Hi, I'm Ashlie — and I'm learning as I go.
I'm a wife, a homeschool mama of two, and a full-time travel trailer dweller in southeast Michigan. My daughter is turning seven this June and my son just turned three. We also have three cats who think the dinette belongs to them. They might be right.

About Me
We live in a Salem FSX travel trailer. My husband works from home to make this life possible, and I get to be the one shaping what our days actually look and feel like — the meals, the rhythms, the schooling, the slow mornings, all of it.
Here's the thing though — I didn't grow up in this world. I'm a south Jersey girl. I grew up in the complete opposite of this lifestyle. I didn't know how to live simply. I didn't know how to garden, or hang clothes on a line, or keep chickens, or homeschool my kids. I didn't even know that the life I wanted existed until I started building it.
And I'm still building it.
MudPieMindset started from a desire to slow down and create a peaceful, meaningful life with less pressure and more intention. I used to think success meant financing a nice car and getting approved for a big house. Now I think success looks like candlelight dinners in a camper, kids who play outside until dark, and learning how to grow food with my own hands.
I believe God already put the good life in front of me — the land, the animals, the chance to raise my kids and actually be there for it. I just had to slow down enough to see it.
This blog is where I share all of it. The camper renovations and the cat litter messes. The homeschool wins and the hard days. The dreams of a slow cottage-country life and the honest reality of figuring it out from scratch with what we already have.
If you've ever looked at a simple life and thought "I want that but I wouldn't even know where to start" — welcome. Neither did I. We'll figure it out together.
